Sustainable use of forest bioenergy: Impacts of forest bioenergy harvest on forest soil, environment and tree growth

Currently there is a demand for more intensive utilization of forest biomass and the use of forest biomass for bioenergy has increased. The aim of the project is to find out how forest bioenergy harvest affects forest soil, environment and tree growth. Recycling of wood ash, a waste product of energy production is also studied as a tool to ensure soil productivity on mineral soils sites.
