Sustainability from grass

The aim of the project ‘Sustainability from grass’ is to increase the overall sustainability of grass production in a changing production environment. Currently, farmers are expected to practice climate change-mitigating carbon farming and the same time production costs are increasing rapidly. In the project we identify the carbon farming actions suitable for Finnish grass production conditions and farming practice that enhance the profitability of milk and meat production. One aim is also to study reform use of farmland, and integrate these actions into economical grass production.
