The Finland's National Plant Genetic Resources Programme is coordinated by Luke. It's tasks are defined in the Finland's National Genetic Resources programme for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery (MMM 5/2020 in english), and they are carried out in this project. Tasks include: enhancing conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture; selecting material for conservation and organizing their evaluation and safe preservation of the national long-term collections of vegetatively propagated plants; providing expertise in the national and international level tasks of conserning plant genetic resources; participating in the work of different international networks and working groups (NordGen, ECPGR, FAO); enhancing research, accessibility and general knowledge of plant genetic resources.
