Green chemistry from forest: innovative processes and products

Green chemistry from forest

We develop new fractioning techniques for forest and agro biomass and side products like tree bark and vegetable peals and legume pods. We aim to find novel applications like hydrophobic and antimicrobial surface treatments based on them. Our goal is to increase the Technical Rediness Level in order to serve SMEs as a platform of product innovations.

Following manuscripts are under preparation:
1) UV-stability of stilbene glucosides from Norway spruce inner bark
2) Optimisation of suberin extraction with reusable non-harmful/green solvents
3) Properties of suberin coated laboratory sheets

Three presentations at the IUFRO Division 5 conference "Forest Products" in Vancouver in June and a strengthen collaboration with the UBC.
