Managing of the national plant genetic resources collections

GEHO-kokoelmat

The national plant genetic resources programme maintains the genebank of vegetatively propagated cultivated plants. National field collections are established on fruits and berries, vegetables, herbs and landscaping plants. The collections are located in Luke's sites in Piikkiö and Jokioinen, in Ammattiopisto Livia in Kaarina and in Kainuu Vocational College in Kajaani. Plants that are accepted for a long-term conservation represent genetically and regionally diverse material that is well adapted to the Finnish growing conditions.
