Improved genetic evaluation of fertility traits i dairy cattle and possible new phenotypes to be used in herd reproduction managemenent. Includes 1) Phenotypes and avoidance of negative energy balance, 2) Genomic evaluation of female fertility and male fertility traits, 3) Molecular genetics level measures of intra genomic inbreeding, and it's consequences.
1) New phenotypes were extracted from the Herd Navigator data. Physiologial cycling measures were analyzed and publication is done. 2) Genomic data was added to female fertility evaluation, and a male fertility genomic evaluations were tested. Because of low h2 the models converged poorly, thus a QP transformation was developed which solved the computational problem.
