The project develops new solutions for capturing and utilising carbon dioxide from flue gases. The aim is to strengthen the value chains of renewable energy, the bioeconomy and the circular economy by creating an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective process that uses locally available raw materials. This involves converting carbon dioxide from flue gases into valuable bio-based chemicals and renewable energy sources. The project utilises biochemical and chemical conversion methods together with advanced membrane technologies for gas purification and separation. The project supports the regional green transition and contributes to the regional transition plan's objectives by promoting innovations that enhance the competitiveness, internationalisation and low-carbon investments of small and medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, it generates new knowledge relating to the circular economy, environmental technologies and renewable fuels. The project's results generate new business opportunities in various sectors, including industry, agriculture and forestry, energy production, logistics and local business ecosystems. Additionally, the project advances industry-driven research and development and supports the implementation of EU climate and environmental policy targets.Overall, the project transforms carbon dioxide from industrial flue gases into a valuable resource, strengthens regional energy self-sufficiency and accelerates the transition towards a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy.
