Publication of the Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry ends
The Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) will no longer continue to publish the Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry. The edition with information for 2022 will be the last in the series. Online news and blogs will continue to provide recent research data about the forest sector.
This decision is based on Luke’s tighter financial situation and the resulting need to make operational cuts. The sales figures of the Statistical Yearbook of Forestry have been fairly low for a long time now. The 2022 Yearbook has also been purchased in low volumes.
“Compiling and editing the Yearbook’s information is highly labour intensive,” says Faiz Alsuhail, Director of Statistics.
The Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry has collated key statistics on the forest sector in a single publication. Compiling and collating information in a printed publication is not relevant, as printed information becomes quickly outdated.
“The information presented in the Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry is largely based on open access data and is therefore available to users,” says Alsuhail.
“The news and blogs published on Luke’s website provide recent research data about the forest sector. Statistical infographics shared on social media have received many thanks for their design. We will continue to make them available,” he says.
Luke compiles, collates and publishes extensive information about forests and the forest industry. Luke’s website includes forest statistics, content related to forests and forestry, as well as the statistical database for forests.
