Natural Resources Institute Finland hosts a CERCA delegation visit to Helsinki
The purpose of the mission is to establish research alliances and new project collaborations with Luke and other R&D institutions in Helsinki.
A delegation of CERCA institutes led by Lluís Rovira, director of CERCA, has met with Luke management and later will visit other research and innovation entities linked to the Finnish Government ministries.
The Catalan delegation, made up of directors and researchers from Agrotecnio, CIMNE, CRAG, CREAF, CTFC, ICIQ, IRTA and members of the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda has met Luke, the Institute for the Environment (SYKE) and a delegation from the University of Lapland and GTK.
Later this week the delegation will be received at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and will meet with the European Forestry Institute (EFI), the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) and the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), CTC, Business Finland and the Academy of Finland.
The meetings, all with a high technical and institutional component, are expected to highlight the importance of the research activities of the participating centers, as well as the Catalan research and innovation ecosystem that is a reference in Europe.
The mission is part of the collaboration agreement signed between CERCA and the Natural Resources Institute of Finland last March.
Thanks to this meeting, CERCA opens up the research and innovation potential of the Catalan system of centres to potential new applied research partners in Finland.
“This is also expected to build new collaborations between institutions for the upcoming 2023 and 2024 calls from the European Commission” says John Kettle, Director of Sales and International Relations.
