Mari Paloheimo has been appointed as Luke's HR Director

Mari Paloheimo (VTM) will start on 1 May 2024 as the new Director of Human Resources at the Natural Resources Institute of Finland (Luke). The post of Human Resources Director is a five-year fixed-term position. The HR Director will be part of Luke's management team and will report directly to Johanna Buchert, President and CEO.

Mari Paloheimo joins Luke from Aalto University, where she has been Head of Human Resources Management at the School of Arts and Design. As a member of the School's Management Team, Mari Paloheimo's main task has been to drive through and support the School's major strategic and cultural changes. 

"Luke's research-based work to promote the sustainable use of renewable resources is extremely valuable. I look forward to the opportunity to build a good, inspiring and sustainable working life together with the people of Luke," says Paloheimo. 

“I am delighted that we are bringing Mari and her experience in HR management from a strong international research organisation to develop our organisation and support our goals and vision," says Johanna Buchert.
