HoliSoils synthesis reports for policy makers, practitioners, experts, the forest sector, educators, and the wider public

News 10.11.2025

The EU-funded HoliSoils project has tackled gaps in knowledge on forest soil processes and aims to harmonise available soil monitoring information to support decision making towards climate and sustainability goals.

It has published the HoliSoils Synthesis Reports which present project results in an accessible form and provides targeted knowledge on forest soils, their management, and their role in sustaining ecosystem services. Each report offers a concise synthesis of findings and practical tools tailored for specific audiences: policy makers, practitioners, experts, the forest sector, educators, and the wider public.

It has also published over 50 scientific publications and three policy briefs which summarise state-of-the-art research results and provide policy recommendations on issues related to forest soils and their key role in climate change mitigation.
