COP28 Climate Conference 30.11.-12.12. – Catch the Carbon events discuss climate-resilient food system and solutions for future food production
UN Climate Conference COP28 will take place from 30 November to 12 December in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The main theme of the conference will be emission reductions and the state of play and implementation of the Paris climate agreement.
The climate conference will discuss emissions reduction, adaptation to climate change and finance, in particular the climate finance mechanism. COP28 will culminate with the Global Stocktake (GST) of the Paris Agreement that will assess implementation and progress of the Agreement and the adequacy of the measures.
The Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will organise Catch the carbon -side events on sustainable and climate-resilient food systems.
Titta Kotilainen, a special researcher at Luke, will be present to discuss the issues. She will highlight climate-resilient food systems and explain how food can be produced even without fields. What kind of new solutions can be found, for example in greenhouse production, vertical farming and cellular agriculture?
