Pia Lindberg

I work at the interface of aquatic ecosystems, aquaculture and fisheries. My research focuses primarily on farmed fish, while also considering wild fish as part of a broader food-web system in which nutrient cycling, environmental impacts, animal welfare and food safety are closely interconnected. I am involved in several national and international research projects aimed at developing more sustainable aquaculture solutions, assessing the environmental impacts of fish farming and examining long-term pressures and risk factors affecting aquatic ecosystems. My goal is to produce applied scientific knowledge that supports sustainable fish production, marine spatial planning and the development of fisheries and aquaculture policy.
