Description                                                                                    

The statistics are based on the farm structure survey. The information is comparable with all corresponding statistics in the European Economic Area (EEA).

Information content

The statistics include information about fertilisation, manure spreading, and the irrigable agricultural and horticultural area.

Classifications used

The preliminary statistics cover the whole of Finland.

Data collection methods and source

Information about farmland management and irrigation is obtained from the farm structure survey’s statistical survey.

Update frequency

The farm structure survey is conducted every 3–4 years. Information about farmland management and irrigation is not included in the data content of every structural survey.

Preparation and publication schedule

Preliminary data for the statistics is completed approximately one year after the end of the studied year.

Time series

In Finland, farm structure surveys were conducted in 2020, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007, 2005, 2003, 2000, 1997 and 1995. Information about farmland management and irrigation was collected in 2016, 2013 and 2010. Not the same information about the theme was requested every year.
