Description 

The statistics describe the agricultural and horticultural labour force. The statistics are comparable with the statistics of agricultural and horticultural labour force in all EEA countries, for which data has been collected using farm structure surveys.

Information content 

The statistics include information about the number of employees in agriculture and horticulture, the annual workload, education, and gender.

Classifications used

The preliminary statistics cover the whole of Finland.

Data collection methods and source

Data about the agricultural and horticultural labour force is obtained from the Farm Structure Survey’s statistical survey, which was conducted as an agricultural survey in 2020.

Update frequency

The statistics are updated every three to four years when the Farm Structure Survey is conducted.

Preparation and publication schedule

Preliminary data for the statistics is completed by the end of the year following the survey year, and final data is completed approximately six months after the publication of preliminary data.

Time series

In Finland, data about the agricultural and horticultural labour force has been collected in 1995, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2020. However, the data does not establish a harmonised time series, because it has not been collected similarly every time.
