Use of Crops on Farms 2025–26 (provisional) and 2024-2025 (final statistics)

In 2025, farms produced a cereal harvest of roughly 3.4 billion kilograms. Of this volume, farms sold approximately 1.7 billion kilograms during the year. Some 1.0 billion kilograms of cereals were used on farms directly as feed, and roughly 240 million kilograms were used for the next year’s crops.

• The 2025 cereal harvest totalled 3.4 billion kilograms, showing an increase of some 240 million kilograms from the previous year.
• Of the cereal harvest, 1.7 billion kilograms were made available on the market during the harvest year, with oats having the highest volume of roughly 610 million kilograms.
• Most of the cereals remaining at farms, i.e. 1.0 billion kilograms, was used as feed, with barley having the highest volume of approximately 620 million kilograms.
• Some 240 million kilograms of cereals were used for sowing during the autumn of 2025 and spring of 2026.
• At the beginning of the harvest year (1 July 2025), cereal stocks on farms decreased compared to the previous year, to approximately 520 million kilograms. At the end of the harvest year on 30 June 2026, cereal stocks were estimated at 690 million kilograms..

Data on the use of crops on farms for the harvest year from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026 are preliminary. The data will be specified in September 2027. Data for the harvest year from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 have now been specified as final. All data in the statistical database are available per crop from the harvest year of 1 July 2006 – 30 June 2007.
