The update of the forest biodiversity data ends

The Natural Resources Institute has stopped publishing the information collected by other producers of statistics on its website. Home pages and tables will still remain on the website, but they will no longer be updated. In the future, some of the information can still be found updated in the annually published Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry.

The data sources of forest biodiversity statistics are presented below:

Metsähallitus (information requested separately for Luke)

• Restorations and nature management completed on protected areas

Finnish Environment Institute and the Ministry of the Environment: Assessment of threatened species

• Number of threatened species

Forest Centre: Luontolaadun arviointi (only available in Finnish and Swedish)

• Preserving the special features of valuable habitats in roundwood removals in non-industrial, private forests
• Retained stock of valuable habitats in roundwood removals in non-industrial, private forests
• The amount and value of retention trees in clear fellings in non-industrial, private forests
• The quality of retention trees in clear fellings in non-industrial, private forests
• The quality of water protection activities in non-industrial, private forests
