Organic crop in 2017, provisional

The total organic cereals harvest for 2017 – 90 000 tons – was 12% higher than in 2016, which accounts for 2.6 per cent of the total cereals harvest in Finland.

• The production of oats increased by 6 000 tons to 54 000 tons (+13%).
• The production of wheat increased by 3 000 tons to 11 000 tons (+43%).
• The production of barley increased to 8 000 tons (+26%).
• The production of rye decreased to 6 000 tons (-22%).
• The production of broad beans and peas decreased by 38% and 50 %, respectively.
