SMART-TREE
In this project, a collaborative effort
between XAMK and Luke is taken to develop propagation technology for planning pilot SE-platform that will enable further RDI activities as well as commercialization of this biotechnology for multiple end-uses including forest
regeneration, landscaping and Christmas tree production.
The project is focused on technological solutions and automation: XAMK will design and produce customized bioreactors and automated embryo selection and transfer systems for SE process, based on Lukes knowhow; Luke will test and evaluate developed technologies. As an
outcome of the project, cross-disciplinary, strategic RDI collaboration and its effectiveness is strengthened in South Savo, and novel solutions are created to serve as a base for a high-technology SE-platform.
