PORKKANAKEMPIN SIIRTÄMÄN LIBERIBAKTEERIN EPIDEMIOLOGIA JA TORJUNTA

Liberibacter 3

The primary objective is to test the kaolin clay, plant derived saponin extract and insect net as part of the carrot psyllids integrated control methods, and to create a model that predicts the temporal and spatial variations of the bacterial infection within carrot field. The model will provide information how quickly the bacteria spreads within the crop. The research is closely linked to the POnTE-Projects workpackages 6 and 9.

One of the aims of the experiment is to produce a control program, in which biorational compounds can be combined with the use of pesticides in order to reduce the risk of the development of pesticides resistant strains of the carrot psyllid. The experiment also includes insect net, which is already commonly used in Norway to control carrot psyllids.
