From conflicts towards cohesion in natural resource governance and rural development

KOKOMAA 01

The primary objective of the KOKOMAA project is to identify conflicts and injustices related to the use of natural resources in rural areas and to strengthen the equity of policies and objectives aimed at just and sustainable transition. The analysis will focus on the distribution of benefits and potential drawbacks of sustainability transition between resource-based livelihoods (e.g. agriculture and food production, forestry and bioeconomy, and nature recreation). It also takes into account the interdependence between different sectors and regions, where sustainable use of regional natural resources may involve not only different actors but also conflicting objectives and expectations between policy blocks and programmes.
