Strengthening the management of invasive alien species and related competence in the Barents region

The aim of the project is the activation of the inhabitants and actors of the Barents region for the management of invasive alien species as well as the application of practical operating models and further development of prevention work. In addition, the aim is to create an international cooperation network promoting invasive alien species issues in the Barents region, in which the participants share their expertise and jointly develop methods of invasive alien species control suitable to the conditions in the region. The project focuses on the control of invasive alien plants and pink salmon (humpback salmon). It covers the Barents region of Finland, Sweden and Norway.
