EUFORE project has been designed to assess and outline research needs, and to provide a platform for increased R&I cooperation and joint funding for forestry and the forest-based sector. Thus, the overarching aim of the EUFORE project is to develop a sustainable, trans-national, co-creative environment for defining, implementing and evaluating R&I agendas and roadmaps for the entire forest-based value chains in Europe. This is to support the preparation for a possible European R&I partnership on forestry under the Horizon Europe Programme in order to reduce the fragmentation of public research efforts in the EU and to reinforce work on the EU’s political and R&I priorities that call for a stronger coordination.
Luke is WP 2 leader (future use of forests), and is leading two tasks in this WP.
EUFORE will greatly improve the state-of-the-art of sector’s R&I funding and governance structure. Its stakeholder engagement hub will present centralized and sustainable deliberation platform for defining future R&I directions, and its’ co-designed SRIA and its implementing measures will provide an overall European framework for future R&I activities.
