Ecological, hydrological, and remote sensing observations to monitor peatlands and restoration outcomes
EkoSuo 01
Boreal peatlands are intensively restored, and the restoration efforts are likely to increase in the near future. Yet, we have limited knowledge of the actual effects of peatland restoration, that is, how well the restored sites recover in their hydrology and species composition. The aim of the project is to combine long-term ecological, hydrological and remote sensing data to evaluate and predict the restoration success in space and in time.
