Sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) farming for pharmaceutical purposes on low-productive, drained peatlands in Northern Satakunta, Finland

To study Sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) farming possibilities on peatlands which are drained for forestry, but are low-productive in Northern Satakunta area.

Report of the results of the pilot project. Two graduate works (TAMK) will be prepared. One about testing the method to analyse the bio-active compounds and testing the vegetative reproduction (by tissue) of Sundew. The other concerning the inventory of Sundew and local forest owners general interest in collecting and/or farming Sundew. One part of doctoral thesis (TTU) comparing bioactive compounds of field grown and lab grown sundews.
