Improving self-sufficiency and efficiency of Finnish beef production through genomic selection

The project aims to enhance domestic beef production based on suckler cows because decreasing dairy cow population cannot fill the gap between domestic production and consumption. This is done by upgrading the current traditional beef breeding scheme into genomic evaluation scheme.
