Wanhe Qi

My research interests lie in aquaculture production and technology with a focus on waste treatment engineering in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). I am currently working on biofilm management in RAS, by leveraging the beneficial effects of biofilms in nutrients removal, resource recovery, and waste valorization, while mitigating their detrimental impacts, such as biofouling, pathogen proliferation, and odor problems in RAS. By optimizing biofilm management strategies, I aim to develop innovative waste treatment technologies that enhance water quality, promote fish health, and support sustainable and responsible aquaculture practices.
