Description 

The data on forest labour force and earnings are produced by Statistics Finland. The labour force statistics include information on i.e. the employment status and gender distribution of employees and unemployment. The development of wages and salaries as well as earnings in the forest sector is monitored by branch of industry.

Classification used

The forest sector labour force is divided into the employed, unemployed and economically inactive. The labour force consists of the employed and unemployed. The employed are further divided into employees (wage earners and salaried employees) and self-employed and unpaid family workers. The wages and salaries as well as earnings in the forest sector are presented by branch of industry and type of remuneration. The Standard Industrial Classification TOL 2008 is applied to these statistics. It divides the forest sector into forestry, wood-products industries, and pulp and paper industries.
