The price of milk was lower than a year ago. The price of milk fell from the previous month, as the price of milk in November was temporarily increased by extra payments made by some dairies. The prices of cereals were clearly lower than those of the corresponding month of 2022. The price of eggs was higher than one year ago. The price of food potatoes rose from the previous month and was also higher than the corresponding month last year.

Producer prices of December 2023 compared to the same month a year before, and the previous month (in parentheses):

• the price of milk on average: -8 % (-2,0 %)
• the price of bull meat: +1 % (+0,3 %)
• the price of pork (fattening pigs): -1 % (+0,7 %)
• the price of eggs from caged hens: +11 % (+1,6 %)
• the price of eggs from barn hens: +3 % (-0,8 %)
• the price of bread wheat: -29 % (-1,1 %)
• the price of oats: -23 % (+1,7 %)
• the price of food potatoes: +5 % (+2,3%).
