Producer Prices of Agricultural and Horticultural Products 6/2024 (provisional)

The price of milk was clearly lower than in the corresponding quarter of the year before. Milk prices also fell compared to the previous quarter. The prices in the second quarter of the year 2024 for cereals were clearly lower than those in the corresponding quarter of 2023. The price of eggs in the 2nd quarter was higher than the price one year ago. The price of food potatoes rose from the previous quarter and was also higher than the corresponding quarter last year.

The average producer price for the 1st quarter of 2024 compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, as well as the previous quarter (in parentheses):

  • the price of milk on average: -13% (-4%)
  • the price of bull meat: -5% (-1%)
  • the price of pork (fattening pigs): -4% (-1%)
  • the price of eggs from caged hens: +4% (-1%)
  • the price of eggs from barn hens: +1% (-1%)
  • the price of bread wheat: -9% (-3%)
  • the price of feed barley: -17% (-6%)
  • the price of oats: +6% (-3%)
  • the price of food potatoes: +9% (+3%).

Producer prices are presented without VAT.

The monthly producer prices of cereals and rape in the database table have been an error for the figures from October 2023 to May 2024. The basic price and the quality-adjusted price figures were reversed in the table. The error has been corrected in connection with the release of the June 2024 figures.
