Food potato storages on farms 15.1.2010

• In January 2010, on-farm stocks of food potatoes amounted to 132 million kilos.
• Compared to mid-October, the stocks had declined by 93 million kilos.
• Compared to January 2009, stocks of food potatoes were 8 million kilos higher.
• This winter, stocks have been consumed at a faster rate than in the previous year, partly thanks to exports.

The next survey (15 October 2010) will concern stocks in the upcoming harvest period.
