Food potato storages on farms 15.10.2010

• On-farm stocks of food potatoes stood at 200 million kilograms in mid-October.
• The total stocks were 24 million kilograms below the previous year's levels.
• The decrease in stocks is the result of a decrease in the total land area used for potato cultivation and a decrease in potato production per hectare caused by the dry summer.

The next survey of on-farm food potato stocks will be carried out on 15 January 2011.
