Tiivistelmä

The aim of this research is to speed up new ways of working for dairy farms based on digitalization; by means of developing smart sensors, cloud based solutions for cow identification, feeding based on real need, in-line milk quality monitoring, sensing solutions supporting healthy herd as well as solutions supporting work at farm level. The technology solutions will be based on applying optical microspectrometers, wireless connected sensors as well as cloud based solutions for sensor management, standardization and calibration. The solutions will be developed for easy user interface by e.g. voice recognition, taking photos and applying augmented reality features. The industrial partners in this project are representing different roles in the business chain, in which case the views of the consortium will be considered to solve questions relating to ownership and management of the digital data. This research will be collecting needs from key user groups and will study feasibility of approx. 10 concepts interesting for farm digitalization. 2-3 pilot concepts will be chosen and developed for farm level demonstrations. VTT has main responsibility in development of the needed technologies and sensors, including development round and demonstration of MEMS sensor component suitable for sensing the quality of silage and key quality parameters of raw milk. The work of LUKE will focus on defining solutions needed for farm digitalization as well as on arranging testing and demonstrations at farm level. The solutions and results from this project will be published in conferences and as research articles.

Tavoitteet, vaikuttavuus ja hyödyt

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on vauhdittaa nautatiloille soveltuvaa tietoon ja digitalisaatioon perustuvaa toimintatapaa kehittämällä älykkäitä sensoreita ja pilvipohjaisia ratkaisuja tuotantoeläinten tunnistamiseen, tarvetta vastaavaan ruokintaan, maidon laadun lehmäkohtaiseen in-line mittaukseen, hyvinvoinnin ja terveyden ylläpitoa tukevaan seurantaan sekä tilan hoitotyön tukemiseen ja ohjaamiseen.

Kehitettävät ratkaisut perustavat optisen mikrospektrometriteknologian soveltamiseen, langattomiin sensoriverkkoihin sekä sensorien standardointiin, kalibrointiin ja ylläpitoon pilvipohjaisilla ratkaisuilla.
