Our nocturnal neighbours: learning about them through research

There is only limited information available on bats in Finland. In Finland, all bats are protected and it is therefore important to have more information about their occurrence. High school students are going to help researchers gathering information about bats, and at the same time they will learn about the ecology and behavior of bats.

The high school students will be able to follow the project results from the Laji.fi portal and they will receive information on the bats in their local environment. The teachers who are participating in the science project will receive an information package about bats for their classes. As part of the science project, also survey data is collected in three different phases during the project.
