The primary objective of the YLIKE project is to activate the Northern Ostrobothnian food chain operators to consider the amount of food waste they generate and the potential to create new business or other food-consuming distribution channels. The project provides an overall picture of the food-waste situation in the province of Northern Ostrobothnia and provides information among operators on the various uses of surplus food products.


Information on the food waste situation in the province of Northern Ostrobothnia will increase and new solutions are found to improve the circulation economy in catering services and shops. The results of the project will be published in the final report and in other publications. In addition, a Food Loss Guide is prepared.
