Towards clean waters with improved nutrient cycling on fields at Uusimaa area

NyRaHa

Research, advisory and farmers at Uusimaa area are going for nutrient cycling on fields, clean waters and fertility of soils by improving the use of cover crops. Research know-how of Luke is connected to studies on farms. Incessant measuring of water quality gives information of decreasing nutrient load. Efficient information between participators is in an important role.

The project produces information about e.g. cover crop species and cultivars, and about how different soil cultivation intensities (ploughing, decreased and no tillage) are linked to using cover crops. Latest information about cover crops is going straight to practise by interactive way of acting. Information is also given in public events, newspapers and web site. Publishing is active during the project, also together with other projects.
