Uudistuvan metsäalan tilastointi

The focus of the project is to modernize forest statistics to better reflect to the data needs of the Finnish Forest Strategy 2025. New sub-projects deal with the development of statistics on forest-related ecosystem services, and the interlinkages of the traditional forest industry with other wood-using branches, such as the chemical industry and the energy sector (green bioeconomy).

One of the main objectives is to find out, which kind of relevant statistical information is available on forest-related ecosystem services. Another primary objective is to compile time series on the output, value added, employment and exports of the green bioeconomy. National Accoints, provided by Statistics Finland, will be used as the main information source. Additionally, a research plan for a study on energy use in small-sized dwellings will be drawn up.
