The study is based on the fact that raised water table diminishes the harmful environmental effects of peatland farming. This study intends to improve the state of the environment by creating solutions for design, implementation and timing of controlled drainage. The study also produces quantitative results of environmental, economical, and management related benefits of controlled drainage on peat soils.
