Drainage design, materials and installation methods are investigated to improve the profitability of crop production and to reduce the nutrient load from cultivated fields. The effect of envelope material and drain spacing on field drainage, crop yield, nutrient transport and soil structure are studied. The project also aims to apply the FLUSH model to drainage planning, as well as in short-term and long-term impact assessment of drainage.
