Goals

This project will develop spatially-explicit models for simulation of management regimes in continuous cover forestry with application of single-tree selection approach. Finnish-Russian research team will evaluate alternative forest management scenarios in terms of trade-off and synergies between different ecosystem services, such as timber production, carbon sequestration, nutrient fluxes and biodiversity.

Outputs

According to the results obtained from the study, recommendations on selection cuttings designs and stand management optimization will be given.
