Reindeer husbandry in the globalizing North – Adaptation pathways to the future

The aims are to analyze and compare the productivity, profitability and sustainability of reindeer husbandry in different kinds of reindeer herding systems in Nordic countries by using the developed bioeconomic system model on reindeer husbandry. To make suggestions for developing and promoting ecologically, economically and socially sustainable and optimal reindeer husbandry in different areas and countries.

Results of the project will be published in different international scientific journals and national papers. In the ending part of project there will be written a common project report together with all Nordic project partners. This report will also include suggestions for developing and promoting the reindeer husbandry in different areas and countries.
