Nutritional mitigation of greenhouse gases from dairy cows

The objective of the project include reducing enteric methane emissions by three different nutritional strategies. Rapeseed cake containing moderate amount of oil, Mootral as an methane reducing agent and Progres + Progut as rumen modifiers will be tested for their potential to mitigate enteric methane emissions from lactating dairy cows.

It is expected to rank the different strategies tested in this experiment for their potential to reduce enteric methane emissions. The performance of animals will be measured to ensure no negative effect on performance is caused by the strategies tested.
