Lucas maankäyttö 2015

The whole action aims to inventory Finnish national operational mapping and monitoring programmes that produce information on land use in relation to the data needs of EUROSTAT. Requested statistical information are produced describing land use in Finland from a pilot area. The target year is 2012. The methodology for the creation of the LUCAS compatible data is developed. Feasibility of applied methods are described in terms of accuracy and completeness of results, sustainability of applied approach and technical solutions. Legal and economic aspects are also evaluated. Besides data collected by SYKE and LUKE, other relevant data provided by other data providers in Finland will be taken into account.
The project is implemented in cooperation by the Finnish Environment Institute SYKE as a coordinator and by the Natural Resources Institute Finland LUKE as a co-partner. The partners complement each other in the respect of thematic expertise. LUKE’s expertise covers especially agriculture and forestry statistics. SYKE’s expertise covers especially GIS expertise and LU theme artificial land.
