Goals

New applications of technologies have increased the usage and demand of food quality oats in
Finland.

One hectare of oats produces 8 ton kernels and plant mass together. Straw is produced 4 ton and kernels 4 ton, which produces side products 2,5 ton food quality oats.

The action model, which will be developed during the project, will emphasise co-operation of farms and farm groups/teams in drying, benefitting the side products, recycling of nutrients and logistics.

Outputs

1. Production of quality oats: 2. Utilization of plant mass which has been collected from grain drying and sorting, and from field as a straw: 3. Thermomechanical chemical-free process, and 4. Carbon binding to the field.
