Does gypsum have effects on crop growth?

KIPSIKASVU

The project studies in field trials, repeated in two years, if spring spread gypsum have effects on growth of spring cereals, spring turnip rape and field pea. The gypsum is spread on no tilled soil, and both incorporated or not to soil before sowing of the crop. Gypsum is normally spread to the field in autumn, in order to inhibit phosphorus leaching. If no negative effects on crop growth caused by spreading in spring is found, the possibilities for use of gypsum are increasing.
