Genetic rescue of landlocked salmon

Main goal is to start experimental crossings of critically endangered landlocked salmon with some vital salmon populations to increase its fitness. This project concentrates on comparisons with egg and juvenile phases in controlled hatchery conditions.

This project is an important part for developing methods of genetic rescue of inbred landlocked salmon. At best, the crossings may provide practical measures for increasing fitness of landlocked salmon.
