Feasibility study on insect economy

Markets for insect food and feed are expected to be opened in the near future and rapid growth in market size of edible insects is projected. Developing mass rearing technology and transition towards new production systems is a prerequisite for the growth.

The supply and availability of existing rearing technology is examined in this project, and feasibility study based on the best available technology is prepared in order to facilitate start-up of insect rearing in North Karelia.

A public report will be finished as a result of the project.
