North-Karelia in Finland is developing towards modern reactive carbon hub and center. Renewable biomass, mainly wood, is the best option as a raw material and BlackGreen project aims to increase knowledge and activity on the field in order to enable new value networks and business development. The work will be focused in following objectives: 1) Products and markets, 2) Production and properties, 3) Raw material availability, 4) Logistics, 5) LCA, 6) Industrial symbioses and new business and 7) Biochar communication.

Our partners in the BlackGreen project are Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Business Joensuu and the University of Eastern Finland (UEF)
