Aura Utbildningsmodul inom naturbaserad vård och pedagogik

AURA Utbildning Pääprojekti

The aim of the project is to develop a study module, first of its kind in Green Care and Farm Education in the Swedish
language. Green Care and Farm Education are already well-established forms of rural business in the other Nordic
countries. Especially within the Green Care, the customers consist of actors of social- and health care sector but also
private individuals who buy precautionary and rehabilitating nature- and farm assisted services from these kinds of
rural enterprises. The customers in Farm Education are mainly schools and daycare who buy services in accordance
with pedagogical criteria and curriculum. Also in Finland, research and development of Green Care has been
conducted but competence building, education and productification are not yet developed.
This planned project is a continuation and an answer to the “Grön omsorg I Österobtten”-project which indicated a
clear need as to the development of competence in this type of enterprising, education and teaching methods in the
Swedish speaking Ostrobothnia. The specific features of Ostrobothnia, linguistic, and the local needs, strengths, the
unique social and professional capacity will be taken into account in this regional project.
The purpose of the project is to enhance the skills of the participators in order to implement a social innovation like
Green care and Farm Education. As tailor-made specific education, the Aura study module is directed to several
different actors, e.g. potential green care-enterpreneurs, educators, personnel of social- and health care, councellors,
students of social work and other students. The participators in the study module will receive specific basic education
for starting activities in the field of green care and farm education or go into specialized studies elsewhere.
The study module will gain and use material and results generating from research- and development work done within
a more extensive future Aura- Green Care transregional project.
The study module will take place in Ostrobothnia and the generated study materials will be available for Swedish or
bilingual areas in Finland. Therefore, the project will promote linguistic equality as it offers Swedish speaking specific
education. The project will also promote equality between men and women since Green Care enhances female
entreprenurship. In order to promote equality and in order to take into account the different needs of service of the both
sexes, the project will in its marketing and planning take into note sectors traditionally dominated by men, e.g. farming,
fish- and forest sector. The starting point for the substane of such a study module is sustainable development from asocial, economic, ecological and cultural perspective. The philosophy of Green Care concerns environmental
consciousness and development of the local business structure and local resources in order to develop new forms of
employment in rural areas. This will influence in a positive manner the preservation of female rural employment but at
the same time make the access for men easier to implement this kind of new social innovation.
The module will be planned and coordinated in cooperation wht the national "Green Care-koulutus Suomessa"-Project.
This will ensure that the content of the Aura Study Module is in accordane with the national development of Green
Care.
