The project aims at developing and implementing novel technological applications that improves value-addition of spruce sawn goods. That will be gained by -Testing how well quality characteristics of spruce stems can be predicting with an image analyses application -Developing a method to predict crookedness of spruce logs and to optimize cutting of crooked stems -Developing a method to predict knottiness zones of spruce stems and risk for break of the top of tree
